The findings of the House Select Committee have some people jumping around like their pants are on fire. Mediaite reported that Trump went “scorched earth” after it was announced that the committee would be making criminal referrals on him (and others). Trump, of course, took to his social media site to rant, as he frequently does. He began with his tired statements about Liz Cheney, but before long, he couldn’t take it anymore. Trump screamed “I DID NOTHING WRONG!” He also claimed he couldn’t be charged because of “double jeopardy,” which has nothing to do with the charges Trump is facing. “Double jeopardy” is a defense for those who have either been acquitted or convicted on charges that a prosecutor tries to bring again. Trump hasn’t even been charged yet, let alone acquitted or convicted, so double jeopardy does not come into play for him. He is such an idiot.

When screaming fails to work for Trump, he takes his interpretation of the “high road.” Washington Post reported on Trump’s statement following the announcement: “These folks don’t get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me.” If he were shorter, we could call him Tattoo because he lives on fantasy island. People who love freedom stay far away from Trump. He’s more of a model for dictatorship or authoritarianism than for freedom. Trump is a coward-a whiny, pathetic coward. No one is looking for Trump other than those who want to see him punished for his crimes.
As Associated Press reported, even those who so adamantly defended Trump about the FBI search of his residence have grown quiet. Mitch McConnell, who called for “an immediate and thorough explanation” of the FBI search now has Republicans up in arms over a statement he made that appeared to lay blame for January 6 at Trump’s feet. When asked by a reporter what he thought of the breaking news, McConnell responded: “The entire nation knows who is responsible for that day.” Yes, we have always known who is responsible, yet cowardly Republicans refused to stand up to Trump. John Thune, shared with CNN’s Manu Raju that the committee interviewed “a lot of folks that had a lot of knowledge about what happened” and went on to say that he found them “credible.” My, how times and opinions can change. Even the opinion of his former Deputy White House Press Secretary has changed.
Even though Erin Burnett resigned her position of the evening of the January 6 insurrection, she told Raw Story that she had no idea of the depths of Trump’s evil behavior. She told Raw Story that while she did resign because she was “disturbed by the events of that day and Trump’s decision not to call off the mob,” now that she has seen the investigation: “it’s even worse than I thought.” What she and others thought was happening when they could see it with their own eyes is baffling, but if the committee served to open those eyes, they did their job, and they did it well.
