Police in Brooklyn are on the hunt for a vicious brute who attacked a senior with his own cane over a delayed subway train. 

Law enforcement sources said the shocking incident unfolded at 4:10 p.m. on July 14 inside the 86th Street subway station on the N line in Bay Ridge.

Authorities said a Coney Island-bound N train that had pulled into the station moments earlier was about to depart when the victim, a 73-year-old man, blocked the train doors from closing while attempting to board at the last moment.

Cops said that enraged the suspect, who confronted the senior and complained about it. Things swiftly escalated when the suspect grabbed the victim’s cane and began beating the senior with it, leaving him with a laceration to his right eye and a fracture to his left arm.

Sources familiar with the investigation reported that the victim was intoxicated at the time. An MTA worker who witnessed the assault provided details about the incident to police. 

The victim was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn in stable condition.

Authorities said the perpetrator, who fled the scene following the attack, remains at large. In surveillance footage that the NYPD provided, the suspect was last seen wearing a white tank top, black pants, and gray sneakers.
