An MTA utility truck crashed into a Greenpoint building before the morning rush hour on Wednesday, FDNY officials said.
According to law enforcement sources, the truck, which was from the MTA‘s Mobile Wash Unit, crashed into an apartment building located at 63 Franklin St. just after 5 a.m. on June 4.
The FDNY’s Hazmat Company 1 and Squad Company 288 rushed in from Queens to the scene, which occurred within the confines of the 94th Precinct. When they arrived, the truck was found against the building and under scaffolding.

The collision sent one woman to a nearby hospital with minor injuries that resulted from falling dust and debris, sources said.
Witnesses reported feeling the building shake when the truck slammed into the facade.
“The whole building shook,” one witness said. “It threw me out of bed. I was afraid for my life.”
NYC Department of Buildings officials were at the scene to assess the building’s integrity. Police sources said the building incurred minor damage, adding that the scaffolding was “unstable” at the time of the crash.

An MTA spokesperson said the incident is under internal review as the agency cooperates with the ongoing police investigation.
No arrests have been made.
