On this day in 1945, #VEDay celebrations in Halifax, Canada get out of control as 10,000 Allied sailors rampage through the city. More than 600 shops are looted and rioters make off with 16,000 gallons of booze and 8,000 cases of beer. Two die from alcohol poisoning.
