That was kind of my thinking too, especially as @ZackKopplin works for @GovAcctProj , a terrific whistleblower organization. But I guess I should ask every journalist from now on if our emails/DMs are “on the record.” Learned my lesson. Will be more careful in future. https://t.co/UBdbDQiU3m

Under what conditions is it ethical to publish private conversations/DMs as @ZackKopplin just did? I know it’s legal. I want to know the journalistic norms. Do other journalists do this as a matter of practice? Ive interacted with journalists for 30+ years — a 1st for me today.
