@clapifyoulikeme I explained it to my mom in the context of the guy who sold the Brooklyn Bridge, ever and over. “You’re not buying the bridge, you’re buying a paper that certifies you as the one true owner of the bridge.” It’s not exactly the same, but it gets some of the idea across.
