Moscow expelled US Deputy Ambassador Bart Gorman from Russia. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the embassy.
The United States, in turn, believes that the expulsion was unreasonable and promises to respond to this measure.
The expulsion of Gorman became known after the visit of US Ambassador John Sullivan to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The day before, Sullivan arrived at the residence of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and left the building 15 minutes later. The American diplomat refused to comment on the purpose of his visit to journalists.
